Hi I am learning Java by myself. I am looking for tutorial which explain the subject and give assignment after finishing each subject to practice! and I hope the solution is given as well? any idea where can I find such tutorial

There are many beginner links to get you started, and the Build an Application, tutorial by Dana Nourie I found especially helpful because she explains every step of the process without going too fast (some of these tutorials come from and some have solutions).

Also, signing up for the Nit Picking process at this site has helped me alot based on the principle of learning-by-doing. And its pretty good value for money (do I get a free book now? ).
I guess the important thing (in studying anything) is to read from many different sources; some will explain different aspects of Java better or worse than other sources, so shop around and good luck!
