I and my boyfriend are distant relatives. We are connected into a family by one uncle & aunt who have doubt on our relation and who are trying to create bad impression of our names in each other's family.I'm sure they'll not like our marriage happen, and try to create problems in our marriage.

The plot could be from "Romeo and Juliet".
A suggestion : don't use any intermediaries.
Pigeon-post is out, too.

If that doubt is right why do you worry about your uncle or aunt?Legally nobody can prevent you/boyfriend from marrying if you are/above 18 and your boyfriend is above 21(assuming you are in India).Your uncle and aunt are helping you and your boyfriend and at the same time creating bad impression? How do you want that relation to go?Marriage or 'we are just relatives'?

Unless , Vidya is a "he" and not a "she" - which he/she hasnt specified. Gay marriages are not legal in India , yet , if he/she is a he.

Someone discussing her personal love life on the internet AND dating someone she is related to , is asking others to grow up.

This has to be the stupidest thread in all of Meaningless Drivel!!!
Actually you know what, if your uncle and aunt are creating problems take a Magnum .357 and pop a cap in each of their a$$es. (Sorry, been playing too much Grand Theft Auto lately)

And if someone had average IQ as well, that person would understand that Javaranch is extremely diverse and Tintin maynot be familiar with Indian names.

If music be the food of the topic of this thread.....
The first line of the play Twelfth Night, by William Shakespeare. The speaker is asking for music because he is frustrated in courtship; he wants an overabundance of love so that he may lose his appetite for it.
The Magnum .357 works just as well.

If Paul Mckenna is iNdian then TinTin is also indian. Tintin got confused
by the name Vidya. He thought vidya shortform of Vidyasagar. So cool down Vidya. Afterall this is MD. You can also think Tintin another version of you aunt and uncle

In India, the legal age to get married is 18 years, irrespective of the sex. 18 & 21 are recommended ages.

Continuing the farmyard theme:
eggwarehousing - coop.
baconwarehousing - sty.

I think you really meant DNAwarehousing.

Will this solve your problem ?

Tintin, I don't understand what's the problem with that considering this is meanilngless drivel. I think internet is even the one of the best places to share personal thoughts, as there is no hesitaion to face the faces! He/she who does not like, may skip vidya easily. But your first reply regardin gay marriage was entertaining.

Sunitha, No I have had to postpone it , as we had another round of lay-offs planned at that time and I wanted to play it safe - Lobbying ,etc. Sometimes Out of sight is Out of mind ; - )
Now, that I have survived the cull, I might go in Jan and treat myself to some ski-ing (somewhere not far from NY) along with shome shopping and "touristing" in NY.
And thanks for supporting me , before. Much Appreciated.
Fahim, I have absolutely no problems with anyone posting anything here. I just gave some advice , which Vidya had solicited for. And yes , I do know a guy whose name is Vidya(maybe its a short version of VidyaChandran, etc) and so I just added it as a clause.
Vidya , No harm , intended. Chill. Its Meaningless Drivel.
Ciao
Tintin

_The Ballad of Vidya and Joe_
Vidya and Joe were related
By their aunt's mother's cousin's great aunt
And though new found amor has them elated
Their mothers' aunt's son says they can't
Capablanca says go with your feelings
Tintin says they might be gay
But Paul gives a definite answer
Blow your aunt's mother's cousin away!
Good luck Vidya (hmmm, better Vidya than Dubya)

It must be a cultural thing. Here in the US I doubt anyone would care. Hell, in some parts of the US, family trees don't branch much.
If the question is "should we pursue this relationship?", then your relationship must be weak and you should let it go.
If the question is "how are we gonna dodge the hassles from our families?" then my response is "pursue the relationship and make the best of enduring the hassles from your families."
