I have an assignment due tomorrow to create a stock market screen. It is suppose to display the stock symbol, purchase price, number of shares, the current stock price, and then calculate the following worth bought gain/loss. I do not have a clue were to start. If anyone could help, please do feel free to e-mail me any comments. Thank you in advance. P.S. there should be at least nine methods for this class.

Sounds like this book could be a good read for you Java 2 From Scratch from Amazon - "Editorial Reviews Book Description Java 2 From Scratch walks you through the analysis, design and implementation of a functioning application using Java 2. Learn all the critical programming concepts and techniques associated with the language in the context of creating a functioning Stock Market Tracker/Analyzer. Each chapter builds on the previous with a casual tone, in-depth examples, and detailed steps to ultimately create a working stock market tracker. Key areas addressed are user interface design, SWING user interface, Internet communication, file I/O, painting/drawing, and brief introductions to JDBC and RMI. "

Can you write what you have in mind in English, i.e. pseudocode? In other words, are you stuck on the logic of the problem or on the actual Java syntax of the problem?

Well, first I gotta figure if it's a real moniker or not. Too busy right now, but back soon...
That could be his name, but I dunno bout the last name...kinda hard to pronounce. Guess you have to say it real fast.

Yea Jimbo, not many Polish types in Texas except for pickles. So SteveO do you not eat M&Ms because they are too hard to peel?

Thanks for the prompt reply, "Trunklid". Have you tried "L J Wilson", "LJ Wilson"? Those are valid "displayed names". I'm sure we can work something out -Barry [ July 28, 2003: Message edited by: Barry Gaunt ]
