Hello Everybody,
I'd like to call windows COM/DCOM objects and would like to read some TLB files. As a matter of fact I'm interested in reading the Address book of Outlook express. I've been told that it is possible after reading some TLB files etc.
Can I read it from JAVA? Some one says it is possible through JNDI? Is it right?
Could you please spare a moment and show me the path and some reference sites etc to start with?

You might want to try J-Integra from Intrinsyc ( It lets you bridge from Java to COM/DCOM and vice-versa. I just got done using it for a project here at work, and it's relatively easy to work with. It's a little pricy, though, so I don't know if it'll fit your needs.

Jacob is another Java COM bridge, free fom I'm having fair to good luck with doing what I want with IE. Free source, unsupported.

A good question is never answered. It is not a bolt to be tightened into place but a seed to be planted and to bear more seed toward the hope of greening the landscape of the idea. John Ciardi
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
