im new
i have alot of questions that i will be asking in the future so bare with me
i chose this forum because it was large, looks friendly, and seems as though many of you are knowledgeable
i have this idea and didnt know where to start
im not even shure if im posting this in the right section of the furoms
(if i am then redirect me)
ok i have this idea for a program
and java seemed the obvious choice
ive heard that it is easier to learn
and more flexible than many other programming codes
well for my idea for a program
i was planning on making a program for speaker (subwoofer) enclosure design
my idea
have a 3d box on a 3d grid
that allows you to stretch it then tell's you the volume of the enclosure
(it will be alot more complicated than this in the end but i feel its the first place i need to start)
i would like this program to include a text sheet below
kinda half the graph n box, other half a wordpad like part
in the bottom i want it to display the changing information from the top part
ok im ranting now
it gets more complicated than this
but im sure it would be the first place to start
what do you all think i should do
(keep in mind i have never wrote java before)
thanx for any info
and thanx for even reading
look forward to learning from and with you

Welcome Tony, I hope you do find this place friendly. We do try
I'm not sure the Servlets Forum is the best place for your question so (for now) I'll move it to the Java in General (beginner) forum.
Looking forward to hearing more questions though.

how can i at least make the graph screen with the x,y,z axis
it will be needed to host a 3d (see through, just lines) box that u can drag the edges to alter its shape and volume
im so new that i dont know anything about it

but im realy willing to learn if you throw me a bone
