One of my friend(gal) b'day is coming up next week. Last year I sang(along with 5 others)"happy b'day" every 30mins from the evening to midnigt 3.00, then one beer/wine bottle per hour etc.,. This year I want to do something funny and different on her b'day. Please give me some tips(good ones only please)

Using Java sound API and swing make some interesting GUI .As soon as his GF enters the house,she will enter the frequency ,how many times she wants to hear Happy Birthday or any lovely message.Use Java Advanced Imaging API to make some instresting images that will impress her with every message.You can impress her indirectly too.

{ Gee!. she will kick me out if I do this. } why?Don't write JTabbedPane or JFrame code infront of her.Do it everything before she arrives.Wear java coffee T Shirt.Give her a warm welcome and ask her to click on Icon named <her name> on PC/laptop.

I forgot to tell you that she is not from IT field, so i'm afraid this will not impress her.

Okey ... then gift her a good wrist watch. and later you can tell her the reason behind the gift that since she is turning 24 and there are 24 hours in a day ... so the best gift !!! That may impress her.

Before that make sure she understands that 17:48 means 5:48 PM.Many girls don't prefer 24 hour clock.(My observation)
