Do any of you guys buy the JDJ ? Is it geared for the advanced Java developer ? Does a beginner like me have any business reading it ? What other Java magazines are there out there, by the way ? I myself haven't laid eyes on anything other than the JDJ. Thanks. Edwin
I don't know how many people actually buy it; everybody I know who takes it receseiv a compliementary subscription. It's not, in my opinion, geared towards advanced programmers; it's mostly geared toward people using J2EE APIs and commercial application servers to deploy enterprise applications without doing any really fancy programming. It's not really going to help you learn beginning Java programming, but if you're working in the field it can give you useful advice. One alternative periodical of note: the JavaRanch Journal!
