How can you develop Java programs with Unix for home users? I had a suggestion of using Linux instead, is that correct? In that case, how do home users get to learn Unix without enable to use Unix?
Thank you.

Perhaps you'd do well to start with Sun's Java Tutorial on Your First Cup of Java (for UNIX).

Correct in what sense?

I don't know about everybody, but I know I couldn't reasonably learn to use an operating system without actually using it. If you're curious on how to get started learning the UNIX operating system, then perhaps folks over in The Linux / UNIX Forum would have some suggestions.
