java n00b needs help

I need some help with a program im working on. A school Projekt. I hardly know any java at all so if somebody would like to help me please add me on MSN

Alright, ill try to explain, but my english isnt too good.
the program looks like this:

1. List of all employees
2. Search employee
3. Search by employee by letter
4. Fire employee
5. Hire employee
6. Sort list
7. Quit
im using String fileName = "employees.txt" with 7 names under each other
I've done the 1st thing on the list and i need help with at least
2. Search employee" and 3. Search by employee by letter"!
i hope somebody understands what i mean =)

What have you done with those items so far? Have you tried something that's not working correctly?

An employee has an employer who does the hiring, firing, has the list of employees and is able to sort that list.
