Hello. I need to create an application that gets a microsoft outlook email with attachments, converts it into a pdf, and puts the pdf in the clipboard. Can Java do this? Is there a better language to use? Anyone know if this has been done before? Can anyone recommend websites for research? Thanks. Tiffany
Installing a PDF-printer will let you turn an email in Outlook into a PDF file (without a single bit of code), but the attachments would be problematic. I dont think Java would be a good choice for what you want though, especially since you state it must be used with Outlook. Look into VBA to use with Outlook, or perhaps Exchange Server. Good luck.
Edit: Oh, and I assumed you'd transform the attachments conditionally on type; after all converting say an MP3 to PDF really would be a challenge. Perhaps you should go back a step and examine the problem at a higher level? [ February 02, 2004: Message edited by: Maarten Vergouwen ]
