Hi, Hey I travel long distance to work and am fedup of hearing the FM channels on my radio.I am looking forward to hearing some American channels, as I think this may also increase my vocabularly.Any idea what I should ask my shopkeeper for so that my radio can get these channels too along with the AM/FM stuff. Regards, Kirti

So you are looking for a car radio that can pick up US radio stations from India?

the exact model is like I say over 10years old. it's an sony sw-icf7600 but they still make something that looks fairly similar. has an alarm clock too, which i use every day. yup there is a headphone socket also
You might wanna try connecting your new radios antena to your anti-lightening circuits earth lead (that big copper (?) wire that goes connected to a long metal pipe deep into the groud well, thats the shortest distance to America! Well, I don't know if you would get any American channels in India, but there's a more than decent service from BBC, which is quite good, informative and would help with some excellent propah British English. (and accurate and impartial version of news as well ) HTH!
Or when you are at work, try CNET Tech Radio on net.

need more experence on googling AW I found one link. Better would have been to go to Radio shop.
Hi Kittu, Buy this Philips Radio - I got this in India - and use it to listen to Shortwave radio in the US. It never needs a battery - so it's pretty cool! (Shortwave bands never made it to commercial radios in homes and cars here in the US - I wonder why  ) [ December 06, 2003: Message edited by: Nanhesru Ningyake ]
