I take it you didn't find it funny then ?
Are Indians apathetic ( my favourite word lately) about this subject of humour. Reminds me of those cartoons by RK Laxman of an old man who'd comment on similar goings on in India.

J & J ?
I've seen copies of the RK Laxman cartoons in a book.
Greatest Indian social and political commentator. I think RK Laxman is dead now.
I've been to Mumbai a couple of times....

Swung past Andrew Lloyd Weber's Bombay Dreams last night. I wonder why they didn't name it Mumbai Dreams.
And for the first time ever came across cycle rickshaws in London travelling at 30 mph. Is a licence needed to operate one ? London traffic appears fast when followed by abrupt stops at traffic lights. To experience the full bone-shuddering effect travel in a pre War London Bus.

I hate change of name for any reason.
And Mumbai is still known more as Bombay. I think next generation will call it Mumbai.
There is one district in UP which was renamed as Varanasi long back and till now very few people address Varanasi as Varanasi, most people prefer call it Banaras.
I dont know what these politicians get by changing the names

That must be very confusing.
"Benares is also known as Kaasi because it is beleived that Supreme brilliance shines there, and lights the way to salvation (Kas - to shine). Varanasi is located between two rivers Varana and Asi, and hence the name Varanasi."
I think you've been similarly EU'd.
