Hi,
I hope talking about Netbeans 4.0 isn't considered off topic here, but the people over at the Netbeans forum are too busy to answer my question. Whenever I click on either "Open Project," or "Open File," I get a weird message box that pops up and says, "Missing Shortcut - Windows is searching for squad.jar. To locate the file yourself, click browse. But clicking browse only leads to another error message that says exactly the same thing. After clicking on browse, I get a window that opens that holds a program I've been working on. Clicking on that program file only results in another error message that says exactly the same as the first message error. Finally, after clicking on that two times, I get a window that is named "Open Project." It is nothing but the contents of my documents folder. It prompts me for a project name and file type. Typing in a name, then clicking on open, only results in going back to the same error message that started the whole thing.
I've un-installed the Netbeans 4.0 beta once, then re-installed, hoping to get rid of this problem, but that didn't work. Does anyone have any ideas that could help me with this?
Also, does anyone know what the squad.jar thing is that the error message says windows is looking for--as I mentioned above. That's the part of this mystery that really gets me confused. What on earth is squad.jar?
I hope someone knows!
Thanks in advance for the help!

Oh, one more thing--I also have Eclipse, and that
IDE doesn't give me this problem.
