I m trying to relearn JAVA again..... but this time whenever I try to compile any java program, it says " javac.exe has encountered an error and needs to close" and it has 2 buttons DEBUG and close, I click on either of them and it closes them..... I m not using any IDE, but trying do that from the DOS editor......
please help me

Are you using Windows 98?
I have no idea what is causing the error, but I can remember getting that running a java program on Windows 98 once, but it was fine on Windows 2000.
or better still, switch to Linux

I think I would uninstall the jdk and reinstall it. I have several programs on my Win2k computer that do that fairly regularly, but javac is not one of them. In my case, it usually says that it's trying to write to memory 0000 or something like that.
