This is a simple question but Ive never had to do it so Im looing for some info.

Im using the jsdk 1.3.1 and need to upgrade (having problems with POA in my CORBA apps) so I was wondering, do I need to reinstall my java runtime stuff and reinstall it again or is there a simple updater program?

Any links/info would be appreciated.

You can download JDSE 5.0 or 1.4.2 directly from Sun at link . When you run it, it will ask you if you want your browser updated. It will install to a different directory than what you are using for 1.3. You may need to change your PATH and CLASSPATH to reflect the new directory structure.

Hope this helps,

The JDK and JRE from Sun don't do a typical "update". They install a fresh copy in a new directory. As Joseph says, you will need to make sure your browser, CLASSPATH, and PATH reflect these changes when you install a new version.
