Dear friends, I am new in J2EE(i am basically a mainframe person), i am really confused by looking at the differnt terminologies used in J2EE(JSP,Servlet,EJB,XML,JNDI,SOAP and so many). Somebody told me JSP,Servlet and EJB are the most important components of J2EE, but i am really confused how important are others(JNDI,SOAP,CORBA). Can anyone suggest me what are the most important components to learn in J2EE ? i mean where i should invest my most of the time ,and where to start from ? Please help me.

At first start with Java. Then learn the Servlets and JSP's. Then learn what your application will need.

I agree with David. Start with basic Java j2sdk stuff. After you master that, you can go on to the j2ee stuff.
