hello everybody this is sagar,iam in new to java ,i am just learning java and i want to know abt the certification ,how much time i will spend for certification,can anybody help me,and which way i have to prepare b'caze iam doing job my job hours will be 9:30am to 6:00pm and after that iam free ,i am just waiting for ur mail.

Welcome to JavaRanch.

We have a separate forum for certification (just a little bit farther down the index page) where you can find lots of information about SCJP certification.

If you are just starting to learn Java, I would guess it would be at least 6 months before you will be prepared to take the exam. If you are taking the Java 5 exam, probably longer.
