This week's book giveaway is in the OCPJP forum. We're giving away four copies of OCA/OCP Java SE 7 Programmer I & II Study Guide and have Kathy Sierra & Bert Bates on-line! See this thread for details.
Thank you to Jeff Langr for hanging out with us, answering questions. Also, thank you to Prentice Hall PTR for providing four copies of "Agile Java: Crafting Code with Test-Driven Development" to our winners.
Congratulations! Please send me your snail mail address and phone number by sending an email to bookpromotion AT javaranch DOT com with the subject "promotion winner - Agile Java" and I'll forward your information to the publisher.
You are correct that a snail is a small creature with an external spiral shell (Photo). The word also has a meaning of "a slow-moving or sluggish person or thing" because snails move very slowly. The term "snail mail" is a slang term for postal mail because it is so much slower then e-mail. So Dirk is asking you to e-mail him your postal mailing address.
And congratulations on winning. I too am excited about winning and look forward to reading the book. [ March 14, 2005: Message edited by: Mark Vedder ]
