Hi,

Is HF Java book totally SCJP oriented OR does it cover the Java concepts in the HF series way? Any ideas.

Thanks
Pooja

Hi,
i have the first edition with me,
it covers concepts in the trademark Head First Way,
the text is interlaced with fun puzzles to solve,
be the compiler stuff,etc,
a decent book...

Pooja,
That thread might answer your question to the authors... In that thread, Bert(one of the authors) replied us that the book is intended for General Java concept, not for the exam...

Hope this helps...

Head First Java is a text that really teaches you Java from the ground up. Of course, it does so in that unique "Head First" way that many of us have grown quite fond of. While much of the material in the text is applicable to the SCJP exam, it was not written with the intention of being a SCJP study guide.

If you're interested in finding a good book for the SCJP exam, check out the certification section of the Bunkhouse. Kathy and Bert acually wrote a SCJP book (here), which is very popular with current SCJP candidates.

For HF series, if the book is focus on certain exam, the sub-title of the book will be found. For example, HF EJB contains the keywords SCBCD.
