Can we reduce java source code in usual practice?

hi,

Iam sai, I want to know that can we reduce the source code on regular java practice & are there any simple ways to write code for normal java classes and suggest me some tips and techniques to start java programming because iam in total confusion in choosing which topic in java and start so basically how to start and which books are best for bigginer and are there any websites to starters?Advcance thanks

The JavaRanch Cattle Drive has some hints and exercises you may find useful.
The Sun tutorial also has some good stuff for beginners.

I don't really understand what source code you are trying to reduce.

Well, I suppose something like

rm -r *

could reduce the source code quite a bit...
