problem in Shutdown a computer

hai all,
first i am sorry for posting a vb code here...because i have nothing to do to solve this problem...

When i am executing this program...the computer is not shut down...
the specification of my computer is ...

Microsoft windows2000...Service Pack 4..
etc..

the vb code is given below.....

shell "rundll krnl386.exe,exitkernel"

*********************************************
but this code is not working..plz send me the solutions..i am waiting for ur answers..
