can any plz tell me where i can find the formats for string methods and their usage. I ma reli confused wid dese string methods

The Java API documentation (see the link in my signature) contains descriptions for every method in every class in the standard Java API. You should familiarize yourself with navigating it since it is a very helpful tool when you need to look up the methods of a given class.
