We have a service that uses a Java wrapper
(http://wrapper.tanukisoftware.org/doc/english/introduction.html)
to control everything. On 20 odd Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Professional, and Windows XP Professional machines at different sites, this works flawlessly.

On one 2000Pro machine, whenever the service is running the "Java Plug-In" control panel cannot be opened and any Java Web Start processes hang at launch. Running java.exe --help works, but trying to launch the web start Jar file also hangs. Shutdown the service, and everything works fine.

I am at a total loss as to what happens. Any ideas?
