Hi,
I would suggest you read "Head First Java". It explains Java concepts in an easy to understand way and is really helpful to beginners to Java.
Once you a are a little comfortable you can also read "Thinking in Java".
Also keep visiting this forum. I learnt a lot by reading others' queries.
