I have a test file that has text in Hindi language. I want it to be converted to UTF encoded, that is convert all characters to \udddd format.

Will native2ascii be of any help. I tried it but to no avail. Is there any other easy way, that is w/o writing any java code.

regards,
vijay.

native2ascii should be ok if your language is supported.
Check the supported languages here : (jdk1.4.2)
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/intl/encoding.doc.html

PS: /uXXXX is not UTF. It's Unicode-encoded characters.
