Compiling JavaBeans

Hello All,
I'm struck at compiling JavaBeans which are packed inside a package. Here is how it looks like (BTW I'm not using any IDE):

I have the JDK lib and .(current dir) in my CLASSPATH env variable.
I'm compiling the two files like this:
javac -d D:\workspace\ab\WEB-INF\classes
This works

But, when i try to compile the other file, as shown here:
set CLASSPATH=D:\workspace\ab\WEB-INF\classes\com\somecomp\foo\Author.class;%CLASSPATH%
javac -d D:\workspace\ab\WEB-INF\classes

I get a compilation error saying-
error: error reading D:\workspace\ab\WEB-INF\classes\com\somecomp\foo\Author.class; error in opening zip file
........ cannot find symbol

Pls. help

Nothing to do with JSP.

Moved to Java in General.
