my class basically extends Frame. i want to know how do i let the user specify the path for an image which i shud be able to retrieve and use in my rest of the code..

You'll need to use an input dialog and assign the response to a variable which will be used as the argument to the method which loads the image.

e.g.



In this example, the user will also need to input the path and extension of the file.
