I have sent emails many times to authors of different books given on books (introducton, preface etc) but no one ever replied. I thik those emails are really fake and no one bothers to even check them.

Try snail mail. If I look through my junk email folder and see names I don't recognise ( either people or companies ) I dont' read them and I'm sure I'm not alone.
The only time I sent an email to an address in a book, I definitely got a response and communicated over a few emails with the author to get answers to my questions.
I think in some cases the book might be older and therefore no longer a valid address, or they are just really busy and gets lots of emails.
I corresponded with Solveig Haugland regarding her book "J2EE 1.4: The Big Picture" She actually responded rather quickly, was helpful and very nice.

I sent an email to Abraham Lincoln and the bastard never wrote back!
1. Please dont call him bastard. I respect him very much. confused: And authors are not presidents ( some presidents may be authors though ). If an author is not interested to receive email, why put it in preface at first place.
2. I would suggest writing your subjects as [Question on ] Book Title to help them see that it is not a junk mail.

Exhaustive research on my part has determined that Lincoln's parents were married when he was born, so while it may or may not be that he was a bastard, he was certainly not a total bastard.

The only way to get the author's attention is put a subject of
"Check in mail" which has sufficient ambiguity to keep the senders' conscience clear but at the same time is guaranteed to have the author read the e-mail.
Be sure to NOT use the correct spelling of Cheque.

The chances are that the authors get large amounts of email and if the question is too complex/obscure/off topic or they are simply very busy they don't reply. Sometimes I end up replying because the email is actually very long and interesting and I decide I should really give it some time and never get around to it, rather than whippinig off a quick reply to a simpler question.
Oh, then you might want to send in a quick reply saying long mail in mail ?

I once wrote to John Muchow (Core J2me) asking for his help in coding.I used the header he had specified on his website for traning purposes. I got very quick reply and he was very helpful. I guess all unrecoginized emailz end up in a junk mail folder.

If I got an email subjected "Check in Mail," it would be the first email I deleted. I don't really get many checks in the mail.
