Installation problem

I have installed "j2sdk-1_4_1_01-windows-i586.exe"(will d/l java 5 later) i updated environment variable path also by "C:\j2sdk1.4.1_01\bin" but still it is not able to recognise command javac

when i m appending this command(javac) in command line, it is saying :

"'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file. "

please help.

After setting your PATH variable, did you open a new Command Prompt? (You might also need to reboot, depending on your operating system.)
