What is meant by "Profile Application"?

Hi friends,

Could anybody explain me about "profile" application? I want to know what a profile application will do? For example a GUI application is intended to create User Interfaces like that what is the purpose of "profile" application?

A profiler is a piece of software to measure the performance (execution speed, memory usage etc.) of a program. You use a profiler to find out where the performance bottlenecks are in your program, so that you know which parts of your program you need to look at if you want to make it run faster.
