Where to begin?

Hello everyone. My knowledge base is limited to basic web design, html, css...

I would like to expand that knowledge to a programming language and was thinking Java. My question is where is a good place to begin? Book suggestions, web sites to check out, anything to help would be much appreciated.

btw, I already own a copy of "Head First: JAVA"

If you have Head First Java, then you have the ideal starting point. How far along are you? And how is it going?
