Hi,

Can anybody recommend me a book on designing OOP system. As I was programming on AS400 - RPG, I am moving to Java. I need to understand designing concepts of OOP. Please help. B'cos AS400 - RPG is procedureal, not OOP.

Chooti Baba.

When I was struggling with OOP, Head First Java helped me out enormously.

I have not read any of the Head First books, but they come highly recommended in these parts.

If you are looking for an OO book for Java, then the book recommended above, Head First Java.

If you are looking for a book on design (as I see mentioned in your question too), I've been eyeing the book Head First Design Patterns

You can't fully market the Head First series for this question without mentioning:

Head First Object-Oriented Analysis and Design

And note that the Ranch has a forum for OO, UML, etc. We always welcome design questions there.
