check out our Cattle Drive. the exercises are posted free for anyone to look at and try. If you want to get your programs nit-picked by our experts, there is a small fee.

Our CodeBarn -which we need to do a better job advertising- points to a number of example programs that we have accumulated over the years.

Hi,guys,Thank you.I had saw Cattle Drive and Codebarn,it's small program.Do you suggest other ones(like some real project) except in Java Ranch?

I know the best way to improve your programming level is write actual code.

This question -or something similar- seems to come up frequently, and I've never understood it. What keeps you from working on whatever strikes your fancy? There must be plenty of things that you'd like to do with the help of software, or which you want to automate. Working on any of those will get you experience. So what exactly are you asking us to recommend to you?

Yes, it's almost like wanting to become an artist and saying, "Tell me what I should paint."

For example, if you want to create games, you might try coding your own version of Simon, Mastermind, or Concentration.
