Problem with the installation.

Hi All,

I could install Java on my machine. The moment I try to compile and run a program I face a proeblem. The program gets complied and a (.class) file is being craeted propely. But when I try to run it, I face the following problem.

C:\Documents and Settings\Deepa_Philu>d:

D:\>cd deepa

D:\Deepa>de javatest
'de' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

D:\Deepa>cd javatest

D:\Deepa\JAVATEST>javac test.java

D:\Deepa\JAVATEST>java test

This error comes when there is a difference between compiler compliance level and JRE level.
i.e. if you have compiled the code with JDK1.5 and you are trying to execute your class in the JRE 1.4.Check your path and classpath settings.
