I'd say, good choice. I recommend the 14 inch screen.

Alright

My first post from my iBook Warren, I got 14.1 inch.

Ernest, I have told the salesman that if you go there he would give you one as well .

Also, I suggested the salesman that they should put "Colored" logo of apple on the top of the iBook instead plain logo. It would look very cool. Lets see if they do something like that and give me a free iBook/PowerBook if it succeeds I would have loved to have 'red' apple on top of my iBook...

coloured apple? yugh!

I don't own one mind but I might at some point. If they go the way you suggest though and turn their machines into walking billboards I won't...

Suggest you get a small can of red acrylic paint and a small brush if you want a red apple (or just go to the grocer and buy some real ones ).

There are outfits that can paint an iBook any color (and they do a darned fine job of it from the pics that I've seen), but I like mine just as it in pure pristine white.

I am in a dilemma choosing between mac ibook and ibm ThinkPad T Series, I have played around with mac, its cool, considering I don't hate windows I am open for that too, I heard IBM is porting Linux to their laptops any one know any thing about that ?
I see Mac laptops to be bit on the expensive end, does the extra money buy any thing extra, in terms performance, other than cool look and feel. I heard few good thing about ibm ThinkPad, lot more than dell.
any recommendations ?

I think iBooks and Powerbooks are price competitive with comparable Intel laptops. The Powerbooks do tend to be at the high end of the range with respect to power and features, and thus price as well. Prices for iBooks and Powerbooks range from about $1000 to about $4000, so most people should be able to find something in that range.

In the Wintel world, I do tend to like the IBM laptops better than their competitors. I still wouldn't buy one, though - I guess I just prefer BSD to Linux.
