Burnt my finger today
It hurts like hell
I put in the wather,
-- didn't help.
I put it in Gin I drink --
Didn't help.
I read a letter from my mother --
Didn't help.
I am not going to pay attention to it any more
Try to hurt me, finger, and then try again.
I don't care.

take a hammer and raise it above you head and then bring it down quickly and forcibly on your big toe, (with as much force as your finger allows). It will definitely make the pain go away in your finger.

I have a better option following this idea. Take a gun, install the bullet and raise it to one's head and then press the trigger. It will definitely make any pain permanently go away in one's, er..,not only finger.

Depends on how badly the finger was injured, the time for recovering varies. It took three months for the pain to go away when over 2 litres of boiling water fell onto my bare foot by accident when I was 11. Lucky there wasn't any gun available My mother did help distract my attentions.

Composing some poems is definitely good distraction.

Can you post some pictures of how that foot looks now? Two litres, is that the measure of volume or weight?

It can be both if you're talking about pure water (at room temperature?) where a litre is the same as a kilo. I think. I'm not sure what that is in cups, saucers, stones, pounds, pebbles, feet, fingers and what ever weird measurements are used in the Imperial weight/measure system.

In the case of water, effectively both (though with a certain margin for error in case of boiling water)

I was putting up Christmas lights with my daugther and hit my half frozen thumb with a hammer. If you think hitting your thumb hurts at room tempature, try it at 28f. Very exciting!

She looked at me with wide eyes as I screwed my face into a knot trying not to swear. Then she said... "That's a really ugly face, Dad." Then I laughed. It still hurt like *$&% though!
