Hi everyone. I am working on J2SE 5. I have installed JDK (with included JRE) 1.5 update 15. Now i had a previously installed version of JRE 1.6.6. Which essentially means that i have two JREs installed. My question is - can i keep the latest JRE (i.e. 1.6) with JDK 1.5? I want to remove the version of JRE that came with JDK. Will the programs run correctly under JDK 1.5 + JRE 1.6?

If you compile them with JDK1.5 they ought to run happily with JRE1.6. You would do well to go through your PATH environment variable; the computer will pick whichever Java runtime appears first in it. As far as I know, yes, you can have several versions of Java.
