I need help brainstorming of a project to create to show off at school to the class to kinda introduce them to some cool things you can do with programming. I was wondering if there was a way to create a harmless prank program that might take control of a computer until a code is entered or displays pictures/plays music until something is done?
Or if anyone else has any cool ideas what to do, I'm open to suggestions...games are good except i'm not sure what I could do that would really be that "wow, thats cool" effect from them!
Are they 5 or 15? What kind of computers do you have? What kind of development environment do you have? What king of programming experience do you have? More info, please.

they are 17-18 years old...high school seniors.
I have some basic programming skills- in a java environment (JCreator) - a decent computer- the hardware is not the issue. My programming skills are not bad, except I really would ask for assistance if the project gets confusing for me. It must be impressive, yet basic- about what you would learn in the first semester of College Programming
