I am working with netbeans 5.5 and i have read those documentations in commons apache website. i do want to know whether component developement is similar to programming. if so is that do i want to create all those classes and interfaces declared in commons website and implement those things.

I was in a position to download, when i came to know that there is no availability of the component, I thought of taking an initiative to develop.
