I think almost all beginner level books will tell the basics of network programming.
To list a few there is Java 2 Complete Reference by Herbert Schildt(I dont know if it has a latest version), Thinking in Java by Bruce Eckel is another good book.Similarly there are books from Sams publishing (I hava only heard of them, never used)

Hope this helps

Thanks Amit but want to ask whether these books explain network programming. I know the basics of java but want to know about Network programming. Is there any specific books for Network programming for beginners?

Yes there is a book called Java Network Programming by O'Reilly.
But the above mentioned books are just enough for basic network programming.

Hope this helps
