Is there a way to try console scripts in NetBeans ?

i want to try this simple script in netbeans ... but, of course, i get "unable to obtain console"

I seem to recall that NetBeans will not provide a console. You can run it from the command line instead.

This is a subject which comes up frequently; read the API for Console. This tells you that a console is available if you start an application from the command line. Lots of people get confused about that; as Ulf says, IDEs do not usually have a Console.

Yes, a lot less useful than it appears at first sight!
