American evangelist Benny Hinn is there in city for last 4 days.
Has anybody anywhere attended his 'festival'?Media is quoting him 'controversial evangelist'.But in last two days I saw many people went to attend the meeting. He is supposed to give healing power of Jesus Christ to the world.I also saw Muncipal Corp buses specially arranged for this.
I also saw people protesting against him "Go back Benny Hinn" and some people saying "Welcome Benny Hinn"

Any evangelist in the United States with a "healing ministry" is controversial.

I made the same mistake, but then I realised the 'N' key isn't near the 'L', so it probably wasn't a typo.
I am of course referring to Belly Hinn

My sister mentioned at Christmas that her family was planning on attending an event of his. She has survived cancer twice and believes in God's healing power, as she put it. I'm not sure why that made her want to see him though, as I didn't ask. Maybe she saw a video of his that helped her faith and morale during rough times.

I don't think his visit is worth protesting against. Those protestors are doing little more than free advertising for Mr. Hinn.

He looks like a Indian. I remember seeing him a lot in the mid nineties in the local dallas TV. may be his popularity decreased lately.

If he makes some people happy, I don't see any thing wrong with his approach.

I know Benny Hinn to be a famous Evangelist in US. I have seen some of his videos in God TV. He has come some time back to Mumbai, India. It was not this controversial that time. I am seeing people from Chennai, and southern states of India going to Bangalore to attend the crusade. My friends say Its really exciting and they see miracles happening in the crusade.

It's amazing the number of times a movement comes along with new ways to worship.

The Puritans did it. I suppose Jesus did it too. With the Puritans their greatest legacy was perhaps to be able to say that the past belongs to the past, hence they got rid of the hold Catholic imagery and icons had on the worshiping population in England and probably paved the way for the Georgian era, allowing the Protestant movement to flourish. I believe the original Puritans in England also indulged in witch hunts and trials, like those in Salem. Along with the do-gooders came the evil-doers in the name of believing in the same thing.
