Just curious how many of us use artificial deodorant.

I use deodarant the day I dont get time to take bath but I know many of my friends who make sure that they use some kind of perfume or deodorant and have shaved properly and put after shave before going out.

I dont know why I am so careless about my look...

Or in other words, how many are metrosexual and how many are retrosexual ??

I am hanging between retro and metro..

I know hygiene standards vary in different parts of the world, but in the US it is generally expected for people to bathe and use deodorant at least daily.

I bathe and use deodarant daily. I never use perfume/cologne unless it's a special occasion. I shave once a week though, and I wash my shirts after wearing them twice or thrice, and I wear the same pair of jeans all week

bath, deodorant daily, except very, very lazy day, when only myself or other unwashed people see me.
don't use perfume/cologne, but from basic concept its good idea (too lazy or maybe some personal kind of conservatism or shyness). I wouldn't use it every day, but some days. My cousin does that.
I sometimes wear shirt 2 days, but only with t-shirt under shirt.

Those are habits. I think habits are getting more important the older one gets. Its might be more dificult to maintain good habbits when being single. Like me currently. A good dentist showed me yesterday that my way to brush teeth could and should be improved. Its difficult to start with habit, but often it automates after some time. My mother is master of habits and it has been good to her, I think.

As a kid I stunk mainly because I didnt use deodorant (being a geek and all). I did start using it long before I started to dress smartly. I use Mitchums deodorant because it is very effective but it can only be found in the womans section.

Interestingly there is a move in the UK at the moment to encourage people to have a bath less! Its not that we want to become more stinky to discourage the French or anything like that, its because the government are keen on encouraging people to have showers instead of baths. A bath uses many times the amount of water that a shower does, and as water is the most valuable substance on the planet, it seems a bit of a shame to waste it.

Mind you, this is coming from a country that despite being rained on for 363 days of the year will still have a hose-pipe ban on the two day long summer because of water shortages. Something has to be amiss somewhere in our water supply system.

Is man's natural odour so stinky that even when you sit in AC, one need deodorant.

Please dont take it offensively... even I am planing to use it daily. [lets see when I start... there is no specific reason to start .. but just I want to see how does it feel.. will it boost my confidence ]

But is it that, do we human stink ??

I know my smelling power is not very good, is that reason that I dont feel any reason for deo.

It depends on weather. In Mumbai and coastal line, you need to take a bath twice and have deodorants in dozens in cupboard. In dry climate, you don't need those many.Bath and some perfume, once a day is enough.Atleast people won't fear to come nearer you in that case.
I use perfume. Its only after 6 months I purchased first perfume I came to know that there are different perfumes for men and women. That was when I was in college.

Yes. Everybody stinks, and everybody thinks that everybody except themselves stink. The thing is that usually your smell depends on your diet. So, people who eat similar kinds of food dont notice each other's smell. But, when you get into cosmopolitian communities where the diet changes from house to house, you start noticing people's smell.

People who put lot of perfume stink too. They just stink of perfume. Honestly, perfume-stink is more repulsive than sweat-stink. I think the best smell is that of soap and water. Deoderant itself is not suppossed to have any smell (although many deoderants are lightly perfumed). Deoderant is suppossed to kill the microbes that create the smell of sweat, so hopefully, you will keep smelling like soap and water all day

Agent Smith: Can you hear me, Morpheus? I'm going to be honest with you. I hate this place, this zoo, this prison, this reality, whatever you want to call it. I can't stand it any longer. It's the smell, if there is such a thing. I feel saturated by it. I can taste your stink. And every time I do I feel I have somehow been infected by it. It's repulsive, isn't it? I must get out of here. I must get free and in this mind is the key, my key. Once Zion is destroyed there is no need for me to be here, don't you understand? I need the codes. I have to get inside Zion, and you have to tell me how. You're going to tell me or you're going to die.

Bath everyday. Wash hair every other day.
Bath twice if there was physical exertion during the day.
Deo always. Perfume whenever I remember.

I got a chance to go to a contra dance event one evening sometime back. Fast paced music, lots a people...
Well..... All I can say is I am not gonna go contra-dancing anytime again in the near future

After shave is not of any use unless you have that 'old spice' ad looking wife/GF who will move her fingers on your cheeks after shaving everytime.

I use after shave once in a while because i dont use any cream for my face. I use Nivea Balsam, which takes care of your dry skin.

AW I shave once in a while and out of those once-in-a-while, I use after-shave after shave once in a while
