Hi All,

I have just logged into one website and participated in a poll. I could able to vote to my need. I tried again to vote it has told me that you have voted already. Ok cool, it seems to be good.
I tried again by clearing cookies and cache, still i could not vote. Even i tried by changing browser from mozilla to IE. Still i could not vote. It is fabulous to me.
Can anybody make me understand underlying logic in preventing duplicate votes.

Thank you !!!

Regards,
Ajay.

Hi Ajay,
They are persisting your user id inthe Data Base Level.
So Clearing the cache/cookie dont help you to vote again.

You mean to say that my machine name or address getting captured and putting in persistent storage.
By this way it is avoiding duplicate entries?
Please help me over this.

An id that uniqely identifies you is likely stored on the back end. It could be a session id with a long enough expiration.
