ViewState value

Hi I creating an ajax-enabled JSF component. I am able to send the ajax request to the server and get the desired response. But the problem I face is that the ViewState in the server is updated but the client view state is not updated. So if I click on any other link on the page it takes me to the original state. If I can access ViewState in the server and send it to the client then it will be solved,I guess
