I
like that, Richard. Coool!
I'm back, but I sure am tired. We drove about 3,600 miles altogether, my daughter, my 6 month old grandaughter and I.
We drove north from Denver, through Wyoming and into Montana. We got to Butte, Montana, about 4 am and slept for 4 hours. Then we drove across Montana (beautiful, green, rocky mountains), stopping in Missoula to see the hand-carved carousel, to
Paul Wheaton's new farm just north of Spokane, Washington. Lots of work to be done to make it be a productive farm, but the land is absolutely gorgeous! We saw the new chicks that are just beginning to feather. Heard frogs in the frog
pond but didn't see any, and fed the fish in the freshly stocked fish pond.
Back on the road again after lunch to Seattle, Washington. We got to the motel about 8:30 pm and I crashed (I mean, fell asleep). In the morning we drove from Seattle to Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada). The trees along the way were outstandingly beautiful, so tall and so many shades of green. And the ocean, of course, was absolutely breathtaking as well. We went to the park there and visited the aquarium. They have Beluga whales, and they allow certain people to feed/touch/play with them. Back to Seattle late in the evening. We wanted to eat on the pier, but simply ran out of time.
Next day (Saturday) we drove from Seattle to Portland, Oregon, and went to a beautiful, simple wedding (my niece's) and reception.
I'll continue this later. I have to leave for work now.
