java.net.Connect Exception: Connection refused: connect

Hi i am using commons-httpclient to send parameters in the messgae body while invoking a servlet (making post request) now when i call my application url which is running on SSL it throws me followi ng error

TestConnection.java

error

javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

when i changed the called url to www.google.com

 
    PostMethod method = new PostMethod("http://www.google.ae/");
    method.addParameter("p", "\"java2s\"");
 

it throws following error

java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
 

can anybody please guide me in solving the issue.
