Note that PATH entries are separated by a semicolon (";"). You didn't put one before your new entry at the end of the PATH.

Note, also, that after changing the PATH, you'll need to close your console window and open a new one to get the benefit of the changes.

Well, don't save files there, anyway -- it's a very bad practice. Create your own directory somewhere else to store your work!

I also have a problem about running this program
the error is same as the previous one

I have added some already
Does it has any mistake which leads it to the unrecognised program

classpath
.;D:\myjava; C:j2sdk1.4.2_18\lib\tools.jar; C:j2sdk1.4.2_18\lib\dt.jar; C:j2sdk1.4.2_18\bin

path
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Intel\DMIX;C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static;C:j2sdk1.4.2_18\bin

JAVA_HOME
.;C:j2re1.4.2_18

Do i need to add any other thing if my computer is also vista?

Could you plese help me?

Thanks

C:j2sdk1.4.2_18\bin
I hope you mean
C:\j2sdk1.4.2_18\bin
.
Else try this,
Lets say java is installed in your system in a location, say java_home. So go to java_home/bin and type javac. If it works there then add that path to system path.
