Hi All,

Im new to Java, need to understand the various components that are part of the JDK i.e the .exe that are present in the bin folder of jdk 1.5.The compiler component Javac is present inthe the bin folder of JDK. Need to know how the JVM interprets the bytecodes generated after compiling. Also can you please let me know, the list of all the .exe present in jdk\bin and jdk\jre\bin. How are they different.

Welcome to the Ranch Varshini Priya, we are happy to have you here

To find out which part of the JDK does what, download the API documentation of your version of the JDK. Inside this you will find a "Platform at a glance" page which will help you get all the information you require.

In case you dont want to download, you can find the same information online too.
e.g. http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/

The Java Virtual Machine Specification is a fascinating read.
