I am trying to creating a JUnit test. The class I am testing is sending data over to some IP address. What I want to do is create a seperate process so that I can Stub a listeiner port but the problem is once I create a port listener, it blocks until some client sends a message.

So my question is how can I create two seperate java processes and run this listener while my class under test sends data? Thread does not work because of the blocking.

I would certainly write the listener as a separate application, you can leave it running all the time as you experiment with the first class. Let it run in its own window (Command Prompt in windows) and you can kill the process separately.
